description
the pontiac g6 hardtop convertible is the first american production 4-seat coupé/convertible since the 1959 ford galaxie skyliner / its retractable hardtop (designed by german specialist karmann) is claimed to be the largest in the world / strangely, the g6 line-up also includes a fixed-head coupé, whereas coupé/convertibles usually replace both coupés and convertibles within a range / the hardtop convertible shares its main design cues with the g6 sedan it is based on and is mainly characterized by a long wheelbase and a very sloping beltline / the clean and crisp overall design matches pontiac's new design policy, after too many years of tormented and overloaded shapes
the g6 hardtop convertible has been introduced in january 2005 and should have been on sale from september, but serious troubles with the retractable hardtop's reliability forced pontiac's managers to postpone the commercial launch to early 2006photos
