after the unveiling of a diesel-electric hybrid hatchback 307 prototype, peugeot carries on with a 307 cc benefiting from the same technology / the 1.6 hdi engine cooperates with an electric engine, which provides performances comparable to a 307 cc 2.0 hdi but with a 30 % lower fuel consumption / like most hybrid vehicles, the 307 cc hybride hdi sports a range of devices optimizing its efficiency : the braking energy is salvaged to recharge the accumulators, the gearbox is electronically controlled and the diesel engine automatically stops and restarts at traffic light halts / the 307 cc hybride hdi will remain a unique prototype, but peugeot plans to market diesel-electric hybrid vehicles towards 2010
