description
a few months before the official introduction of the peugeot 207 cc, the brand from sochaux has unveiled at the 2006 mondial de l'automobile a concept car which accurately previews the forthcoming coupé/convertible / apart from the colors used, the 207 épure is aesthetically identical to the production 207 cc / hence the prototype's interest lies rather in the technical department : it's the first hardtop convertible fitted with a hydrogen fuel cell / the trunk accomodates 5 cylinders containing 3 kg of 700-bar compressed hydrogen, fuelling a battery developed jointly with the cea (french nuclear energy agency)

silent and emitting only water, the 207 épure is environmentally correct and provides decent performances, as well as a 350 km cruising range / however, as all the fuel cell powered concepts unveiled throughout the world, such a car won't be marketed until a decade, waiting for the technology to be industrially and economically viable / meanwhile the 207 cc will be fitted with conventional gasoline and diesel engines
