description
as the first slk has been a great success, mercedes-benz
logically decided to stay in the small 2-seat roadster market and launched a second generation at the 2004 geneva
motorshow / the new slk's design is much more detailed than previously : the flat surfaces and simple
volumes are gone for good / lines are more flowing and proportions are more dynamic / the slr-inspired
f1-like nose is the symbol of the new, more aggressive slk's image
the roof's kinematics have been improved : as for the sl, the rear
window is independent from the roof pillars and rotates in order to be stored concentrically with the upper roof panel /
it allows a bigger cargo area when the roof is down / however, no fully glassed roof can be ordered
initially available in 200 kompressor, 350 or 55 amg versions,
the slk range has been widened with a 280 version unveiled at the 2005 geneva motor show /
at the same motor show a vision slk 320 cdi triturbo show car has been unveiled
and it probably previews a forthcoming diesel version
