description
at the 2005 geneva motor show, italian design school ied has unveiled the prototype of a coupé that is supposed to be based on the forthcoming fiat punto platform / this sleek concept car sports a roof that slides into a vertical position and folds to form the rear bench / this device has been designed by ied's students and engineered with the help of webasto
fiat also had an input by prescribing the x1/99 name, as an obvious reference to the small x1/9 coupé from the seventies and eighties / no production of the x1/99 is planned yet but fiat's involvment may indicate it could come true sooner or laterphotos
