italian coachbuilder bertone has unveiled a coupé/convertible based on the fiat grande punto at the 2006 geneva motor show / while the suagna's overall proportions are fairly classical and realistic, some details clearly betray its concept car status : the tortuous headlights and taillamps are unique features, as well as the bipod side mirrors / the dynamic swoosh on the body's side prevents the car from being too chubby despite its very high beltline

at first glance the two-piece retractable hardtop seems conventional, but the backlight is in fact totally independent : it slides vertically behind the rear seats / when the roof is up, it may be wound down to air the cockpit / conversely, when the roof is down, the backlight serves as a slipstream deflector

as of now, no production version of the suagna is planned, but such a car would be a nice addition to the overly plain fiat lineup
